Dearest Black Girl: Quit Counting Yourself Out!

It's a brand New Month and I thought that I'd write a post about not giving up. If you're like me then you may find yourself in a constant never-ending cycle of starting something and stopping something; then before you know it you're comparing yourself to the next person! I just want you to know that that is literally a recipe for disaster!

I genuinely think that I tend to overthink things and make things a lot more complicated than they need to be. Then again, who isn't guilty of this? this is where I'll remember to cut myself a little slack.

Okay, let me stop shading myself...

Question of the day: How often do you feel content in a place where you have settled?

My Answer: My honest real answer would be ... Never ! If I'm being completely honest I'm usually the person that would say that I need to do all the right things, be perfect all the time, holding myself accountable ALL THE TIME, Staying on a time table, etc.!

The truth is we just have to remember that we are not perfect and we are all running a race where there can be multiple winners... meaning you don't have to constantly compare yourself to the next person. We all know that, "comparison is the thief of joy". so instead of comparing yourself to the next person... when you go home take a look at yourself in the mirror and build yourself up. the only way to fully win in this life is to start believing in you. Nobody on this earth will believe in your dream if you don't. Everything great in this life starts with you!
